Car Crash on I-495

Two tractor-trailers and several personal vehicles were involved in a serious crash on Interstate 495 in Marlborough on the afternoon of Monday July 23, 2012.

The motor vehicle accident occurred on the southbound side near Exit 25B. A a tractor-trailer rolled over on Route 128 southbound near East Street shortly after 1 p.m., leading to the closure of the right lane as well as the breakdown lane. The truck was carrying asphalt, however the load did not spill onto the road.

Car crashes unfortunately are a fact of life, even for law enforcement officials entrusted with enforcing traffic laws. Although we hope of course that we and our loved ones will not be involved in any incidents on the roads, it is important to understand your rights should such an accident occur. The first step is knowing whether or not you even have grounds to file a claim for your injuries. The question whether the accused party was indeed negligent must be examined carefully before filing a claim. The facts of each individual case can be quite complex, requiring sifting through accident reconstructions, police reports, and insurance policies, among other inquiries. The accident scene should be investigated, coordinated (when necessary) with a proper team of professionals and experts, examining all evidence.
